Lets face it, plastic bags are a multi million pound business and have been for a long time. I’m not simply talking about the 1p Kwiksave bags, but also the designer plastic bags, you know, the ones that come from the shops that have an entrance fee they’re so expensive.

Really plastic bags have a multitude of uses: Holding your shopping, holding bits and bobs around the house in them, wrapping up breakable materials when you’re being cheap, the possibilities are endless. Yet the government wants to ban plastic bags or, at least charge X amount to have a plastic bag. Long gone are the days of free plastic bags.

I guess this might spark either a rise in profits for plastic bag manufacturers (if there’s a mandatory minimal price), or a deficit because they become outlawed; only weakening the economy further.
